Resume

This project wishes to contribute to the objective raising awareness of the plight of incarcerated women. This CISU project is a new and innovative way to advocate for vulnerable women’s rights and holds significant potential to raise institutional awareness of the humanity and human rights of this group of women. The project will entail the establishment of small community of 20 Zambian mothers, where they can transform their experiences, thoughts and feelings into a creative product (an anthology of poems and art), which can be used in broader advocacy initiatives aimed at promoting equal rights, an understanding of the inherent dignity and humanity of this marginalized group, as well as better conditions for women and their children in prison.
